Som Chivukula

As chairperson of the public affairs committee since 2007, Som Chivukula has helped organize informative and stimulating events on such crucial topics as the Iraq War, the oil crisis, alternative energy and keeping america competitive. He also conceived the quarterly event, ‘The C.E.O. Series.’ Many of these topics are of great interest to Columbia Business School alumni and other professionals due to their timely nature.

Som Chivukula was most recently with Calyon, a French investment bank, in portfolio & balance sheet management. He is now intent on breaking into consulting, investor relations or a sales role in finance.

Som received his M.B.A. from Fordham University in 2007, and serves as the events manager for its alumni club. Prior to his M.B.A., Som was a journalist for seven years including at MSNBC and HBO’s ‘Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.’ He has been published on MSNBC.com and LatinoReview.com, among other Web sites. Som has lived in the New York area since 2001; and spent nine years in Utah, where he also did his undergraduate in mass communications.

Som is also a volunteer for nonprofits such as the Acumen Fund, Lend-A-Hand India, The IndUS Entrepreneurs, and the American India Foundation. In his spare time.

Som would like to thank Todd Rubsamen & Dan McCarthy, the co-presidents of CBSACNY, for the honor of being highlighted as the featured volunteer.  Som can be reached at (646) 872-1738.
