Join a panel of successful entrepreneurs in White Plains, NY, Wednesday, April 29 at 6:30 pm to gain tips on starting and running your own business. Tickets will be available at the door.

A lot of professionals are evaluating whether to start a business or have recently started one after leaving a larger company.  This session will answer questions, discuss lessons learned, and help new entrepreneurs succeed in starting and running their businesses.  Panelist are Jamak Khazra, founder and designer of Bluesuits, LLC, Anirban Das President and CEO of USAS Technologies, Jennifer Prosek, founder and CEO of CJP Communications, and Mobeen Khan, COO for Metaphor Solutions, Inc.  This event is put on by the Columbia Business School NY Alumni Club, Westchester/Connecticut Committee.  Alumni club members, nonmembers, and guests are welcome to attend.

The event will include time to network with peers. 

Panelists:

Jamak Khazra, www.bluesuitsonline.com  founder and designer of Bluesuits, LLC, sold her first creations to stores when she was only 15 years old.  Jamak has consulted and dressed thousands of women from Wall Street executives, TV anchors, including local and national news anchors and Hollywood celebrities, to business, law and medical students embarking on a new course in their lives.  Bluesuits Collection was created and launched in 2000, by Jamak to address the wardrobe needs of professional women who could not find the appropriate styles and fits in the stores. Jamak holds a masters degree in piano performance from University of Illinois and MBA in finance from Columbia Business School. Prior to starting Bluesuits, Jamak worked in equity research on Wall Street.


Anirban Das is the President and CEO of USAS Technologies  www.usastechnologies.com
. USAS Technologies is a global technology firm with offices in New York, Kentucky, Hangzhou (China) and Bangalore (India). Anirban is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the firm. He has more than a decade of experience in Global Service Delivery, Business Development, Business-Technology Alignment, Enterprise Program Management and Business Process Automation. His industry experience includes Media, Banking, Manufacturing, Marketing Services and Management Consulting. Prior to joining USAS, Anirban worked with ABN AMRO Bank, INDEMAND Networks and Tranzact. Anirban holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University, India, a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from NJIT, New Jersey and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Jennifer Prosek, founder and CEO of CJP Communications (CJP)

.  Jennifer leads many of the firm’s key accounts. Under her leadership, the firm has become a leading international public relations and financial communications consultancy with offices in New York, Connecticut and London. With more than 70 professionals, the firm ranks among the top 50 independent public relations firms in the U.S., and among the top five financial communications consultancies in the UK. CJP was named “Small Agency of the Year” by The Holmes Report in 2008, and was also named a “Best Agency to Work For” the past two years.   Jennifer was ranked among the “40 under 40” leaders to watch in the PR profession in 2007 by PR Week.  Jennifer received her MBA from Columbia and sits on the board of directors of the New York City Partnership for the Homeless.

Mobeen Khan is COO for Metaphor Solutions, Inc.

, which provides voice recognition solutions for mobile phones and enterprise call centers.  He is responsible for overall delivery of the solutions, marketing and business development efforts at the company.  Before Metaphor, Mobeen was founder and CEO of Inzigo, a software company providing natural language technology for customer service applications.  Prior to that, he was with the telecommunications and e-commerce practice of Mitchell Madison Group, a strategy consulting firm.   He was formerly VP of Business Development at LinkShare, a web affiliate marketing platform provider.  Mobeen started his career at RAM Mobile Date (later Cingular Interactive) in various capacities including product management, strategic planning, operations and marketing.  He has an MBA from Columbia Business School in Finance and Management, and BSEE and MSEE in Computer & Communications Engineering from Rutgers University.
